The 2022 Hybrid Céfiro Conference will explore the power of cultural, racial,
and linguistic heritage shaping the Luso-Hispanic world.

“Powerful Heritages: Cultural, Literary and Linguistic Reflections on
Periphery and Globalization”

This year’s Keynote Speakers:

We welcome scholars to submit original research in their respective field of
studies including but not limited to topics listed below.
Possible topics include:
- Teaching Cultural Studies methodologies
- Successful pedagogies for teaching Heritage learners
- The intersection of Environmental Humanities
- Professionalization of women, BIPOC people, and under-represented groups in
academia
- Spanish and Portuguese Literary Studies
- Spanish and Portuguese Linguistic Studies
- Latinx Studies and global perspectives
- Mexican American & Latin American Literatures and Cultures
- Writing from the margins/ Marginal writings
- Oral history methods and applications
- Decolonizing methodologies
- Diaspora studies
- Migrations in the global context
- Race and Ethnicity in the Luso-Hispanic world
- Co-Existence of Spanish, Portuguese, and Indigenous Languages in
the Luso-Hispanic World
In addition to individual papers, we welcome proposals for workshops and round
tables. Presentations can be given in Spanish, Portuguese, or English.
Both individual proposals and submissions for panels of 3 to 4 papers (highly
encouraged) will be considered. Each presenter will have 15 minutes
and 5 minutes will be set aside for questions from the public. Workshop
presenters will have 60 minutes.
Submission specifications:
The deadline for the submission of abstracts is February 14, 2022. They should
be sent to cefiro at ttu.edu as Word documents. Abstracts should be approximately
two hundred and fifty words and include the following personal information:
(1) presentation title; (2) full name; (3) university affiliation; and (4)
e-mail address.
The fee for presenters will be $30 for graduate students (non-TTU students),
$50 for professors who are interested in participating, and $25 for TTU
graduate students.

Journal after the conference should
