Subject: Fostering Social Justice Through Intercultural and Multilingual Communication: Pedagogy, Andragogy, and Assessment

I am excited to share my call for chapters for an edited volume with the title
‘Fostering Social Justice Through Intercultural and Multilingual
Communication: Pedagogy, Andragogy, and Assessment’ which will be published by
IGI Global. This book intends to explore innovative teaching, learning, and
assessment practices that promote Education for Social Justice and enhance
intercultural and multilingual communication.

The goals of Social Justice in Education include more empathy, more justice,
and more equality. Students taught with this framework will ideally have a
stronger sense of what's just and fair and choose careers and lifestyles that
support their communities. Over time, students learn to look at current and
historical events – even their own actions – through the lens of social
justice. They spot discrimination and inequality. All this leads to better
decision-making as adults.
The current chapter also emphasizes the importance of intercultural and
multilingual communication. Intercultural communication offers the ability to
deal across cultures, which is increasingly important, as the world gets
smaller. Building trust impacts the bottom line for global companies, and
multilingual communication is a core pillar for effective growth. Multilingual
communication also avoids miscommunication, offense, and other adverse
reactions and builds a strong foundation for global success.
The purpose of the edited volume is to respond to the needs of learners of any
context and background, practitioners, educators, policymakers,
administrators, program planners, educational leaders, and researchers through
relevant studies that include sound pedagogical and content knowledge. The
newly commissioned chapters of this book will link the theoretical
understanding and practical experience of using teaching and assessment
practices that foster Education for Social Justice, multilingual and
intercultural communication and will be a valuable contribution to the field
of Education and Applied Linguistics.

EXTENSION OF THE DEADLINE
I am delighted that many distinguished scholars have contributed a chapter to
my new edited volume with the title ‘Fostering Social Justice Through
Intercultural and Multilingual Communication: Pedagogy, Andragogy, and
Assessment’. However, I would like to provide young and experienced
researchers with more opportunities to publish their work. Therefore, I am
extending my call for chapters until February 7, 2022. Please submit a chapter
proposal of 1,000-2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of
their proposed chapter.
