Description:
We are looking for linguists to work on improving letter-to-sound rules for
ASR in African American English (AAE). You will be working with an Appen
Linguist supervisor to create and test rules, and provide pronunciation
transcriptions for a large training data set. Experience in phonetics &
phonology is essential, while previous academic research into AAE and
computational linguistics experience will be highly regarded.
Requirements:
- Minimum BA (Major Linguistics)
- Native speaker of African American English
- Academic or industry experience in phonetics/phonology
- Available for any amount of time between December and mid-February (Not
expected to work during the holidays).
