For those interested in helping build the programming for SAMLA 94 by
proposing their own Calls for Papers, please see our SAMLA 94 Call for Papers
page. On it, you will find directions for submitting your Call using the SAMLA
94 CFP submission form. SAMLA welcomes panel proposals addressing the
conference theme as well as all other relevant professional and research
interests in a broad range and wide diversity of intellectual fields. For any
questions, please contact us at samla at gsu.edu.
The SAMLA 94 General Call for Abstracts is now open! This is an opportunity
for prospective presenters to submit abstracts directly to the SAMLA Office
for review. Please make sure you review all available SAMLA 94 CFPs before
submitting your abstract. While the SAMLA Office will work diligently to
review and accept all submitted abstracts, we cannot guarantee acceptance of
your abstract. We also request that chairs of SAMLA 94 panels who receive
abstracts that do not fit their call re-direct the submitters to our General
Call pool. We hope to find a place for all deserving abstracts at SAMLA 94.
The deadline to submit an abstract to our General Call is July 30.
The SAMLA 94 Undergraduate Research Forum form is now live! This form is for
all prospective chairs/moderators who have already organized undergraduate
panels. Please submit your fully formed undergraduate panel by September 7. As
a note, all undergraduates who would like to submit a single abstract should
use the General Call portal.
The SAMLA 94 Panel Information Form is also live! Please use this form to
submit your fully formed SAMLA 94 panels. If you are submitting multiple
sections of one panel, please designate them using A, B, C, D, etc. The
deadline to submit a Panel Information form is July 30.
Call for Papers:
SPECIAL SESSION ON APPLIED AND THEORETICAL LINGUISTICS
Although we encode our thoughts through signed, spoken, written, and tactile
expression on a daily basis, M.A.K. Halliday's (1978) oft-touted adage is
frequently taken for granted: ''Linguistics is everywhere because language is
everywhere.'' As a result, this special session welcomes submissions on any
aspect of applied or theoretical linguistics from non-literary perspectives.
To this end, abstracts addressing the issue of language change, which is the
theme for this year's conference, are especially welcome, though submissions
on other topics within linguistics will also be considered. By July 20, 2022,
please submit an abstract of 250 words, a brief biographical blurb, and any
A/V or scheduling requests to Troy E. Spier, Universidad San Francisco de
Quito, at tspier at usfq.edu.ec.
