The Arabic Linguistics Society together with the University of Massachusetts
Amherst’s Department of Linguistics are pleased to announce the 36th Annual
Symposium on Arabic Linguistics (ASAL 36) to be held at UMass Amherst on March
24-March 26, 2023.
Call for Papers:
The Arabic Linguistics Society together with the University of Massachusetts
Amherst’s Department of Linguistics are pleased to announce the 36th Annual
Symposium on Arabic Linguistics (ASAL 36) to be held at UMass Amherst on March
24-March 26, 2023.
Papers are invited on topics that deal with theoretical and experimental
issues in Arabic Linguistics. Research in the following areas of Arabic
linguistics is encouraged: linguistic analysis (phonology, morphology, syntax,
semantics, and pragmatics), sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, discourse
analysis, historical linguistics, corpus linguistics, language acquisition,
and computational linguistics.

Abbas Benmamoun (Duke University)
Maris Camilleri (University of Essex)

Persons interested in presenting papers are requested to prepare an abstract,
following the guidelines at this link:

Please note that abstracts submitted must be written in English. Abstracts
written in any other language will be rejected. Please also note that
abstracts submitted by e-mail will not be accepted.
