Meeting Description:

The Linguistic Society of Korea (LSK) is pleased to announce the 2022 Seoul
International Conference on Linguistics (SICOL-2022) to be held online from
August 11-12, 2022.

The theme for SICOL-2022 is ‘Language in interaction: New perspectives and
approaches.’ In the age of information and communications technology we live
in today, knowledge and data processed as information are making critical
impact on human behavior, ways of thinking, values and operation of social
structure. Information circulated in this age is presented, stored and
exchanged in the form of language. As such, the study of language and language
use is more important than ever to deepen our understanding of human behavior,
ways of thinking and interconnections in a hyper-connected society.

SICOL-2022 provides a forum for the presentation of cutting-edge research
focused on the theoretical and empirical study of ‘language in
multidimensional interaction’.

It will feature three invited presentations by the following distinguished
scholars:
- Taehong Cho (Hanyang University, Korea)
- Klaus von Heusinger (Universität zu Köln, Germany)
- Helen de Hoop (Radboud University, The Netherlands)

It will also feature a diverse array of sessions:
− General sessions: papers from all areas of linguistics
− Special sessions: papers addressing topics related to the conference theme
− Tutorial organized by Nayoun Kim (Sungkyunkwan University, Korea) and June
Choe (University of Pennsylvania, USA):
   Experimental syntax using IBEX/PCIBEX
