Description:
One post-doctoral position is available in the Psycholinguistics Lab in the
Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Iowa.
This position is linked to a new NIH-funded project awarded to Dr. Kristi
Hendrickson. This project investigates language processing and outcomes in
adults with and without Developmental Language Disorder. The postdoctoral
researcher will take a leading role in designing and conducting experimental
work examining online language comprehension and production using
eye-tracking. Further, they will have the opportunity to collaborate with
several other professors in the CSD department.
The postdoctoral researcher is expected to participate fully in the
intellectual life of the Department. The researcher is also expected to
contribute to the vibrant interdisciplinary group of language scientists at
the University of Iowa that includes faculty, postdocs and students in
Communication Sciences and Disorders, Linguistics, Psychology, Neuroscience,
Philosophy, Education and related disciplines.

The position is available starting September 2022 (start date flexible) and is
for an initial period of one year with potential extension for additional
years.
Education Requirement:
A PhD in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Linguistics, Psychology,
Cognitive Science or a related field.
Required Qualifications:
An interest in experimental research and a commitment to interdisciplinary
research
Desirable Qualifications:
- Good statistical skills
- Proficient in a programming language (e.g., R, Matlab, Python, etc.)
- Experience analyzing and interpreting eye-tracking data
