Meeting Description: 

The Workshop on Altaic Formal Linguistics: is an international conference
first held at MIT in 2003, and since convened at 14 different academic
institutions throughout the world. Its main goal is to provide a wide
interaction platform for linguists working on Altaic languages – a
hypothesized language family that includes Turkic, Mongolic, and Tungusic
languages, as well as Korean and Japanese.

Invited Speakers
- Heejeong Ko, Seoul National University
- Donca Steriade, Massachusetts Institute of Technology
- Sergei Tatevosov, Moscow State University

The 16th Workshop on Altaic Formal Linguistics will be held from September 30
to October 2, 2022, hosted by the Department of Linguistics at the University
of Rochester. The event will be entirely virtual.
