Linguistic Field(s): General Linguistics
Call Deadline: 01-Feb-2023
Meeting Description:
PSUxLing is dedicated to promoting excellence in undergraduate research in all
fields of linguistics and aims to bring together undergraduate linguists from
across the country to present their research. High quality undergraduate
linguistics research projects will be showcased at a poster session where
undergraduates will gain experience and learn about research in the language
sciences. In order to build bridges between undergraduate, graduate, and
faculty linguists, the poster session will have a wide audience so that
student presenters can receive valuable feedback from a number of different
perspectives.
Call for Papers:
The Penn State Department of Spanish, Italian and Portuguese invites
undergraduate students to present their linguistics research at the Penn State
Undergraduate Exhibition in Hispanic and General Linguistics (PSUxLing9).
PSUxLing9 will provide students with an opportunity to present their research
and attend two keynote talks in linguistics. The 2023 keynote speakers are Dr.
Pablo Requena (University of Texas, San Antonio) and Dr. Colleen Balukas
(University at Buffalo). Additionally attending students will have the
opportunity to speak with undergraduate students, graduate students, and
faculty in the Department of Spanish, Italian and Portuguese and in the Center
for Language Science, and learn about the diverse career and research
opportunities afforded by a degree in linguistics.
The deadline for abstract submission is February 1, 2023.
We invite undergraduate students to submit up to one single-authored and one
jointly-authored abstract for consideration on any topic related to Hispanic
or General Linguistics. Poster presentations can be at any stage of the
research project, including conceptual, pilot, and completed research studies.
Abstracts should be between 350 and 500 words long, not including references.
More information about abstract submission can be found here:
