Call for Papers:

The 2023 Teachers College Columbia University Roundtable in Second Language
Studies (TCCRISLS) proudly presents a two-day symposium themed:

USING STORIES TO STORY INSTRUCTED, USAGE-BASED L2 LEARNING
February 2-3, 2023
Zoom

Five decades of SLA research have led to a broad consensus that second
language development is fundamentally a socio-cognitive constructive process
where there is a dynamic - but likely principled - interplay of environmental
forces, learner agency, and time, and where the quality and quantity of
experience with the target language is quintessential.

This symposium collectively explores and ascertains the potential of using
stories as vehicles for input and output affordances to help drive L2
development in its various manifestations. We welcome submissions of paper
presentations on the theme.

The call for abstracts is now open until December 1, 2022. Submissions should
each include a 150-word abstract and contact information and be sent
electronically to “ciflte at tc.columbia.edu,” with “tccrisls’ in the subject
line.

Notifications of acceptance will go out in early January, 2023.
