Subject: New JISCMAIL list: GENDER-INCLUSIVE-LANGUAGE
Dear Colleagues,
Please allow me to inform you about the new JISCMAIL list
"GENDER-INCLUSIVE-LANGUAGE".
The mailing list is one of the immediate outcomes of my international
conference “Attitudes towards gender-inclusive language. A multinational
perspective” (http://qmul.pfalzgraf.net).
The conference is the starting point to initiate an international network of
researchers interested in Gender-Inclusive Language. A network that goes
beyond existing national networks, with a focus on international co-operation
and comparative academic research. The main aim is to co-operate on research
ideas, to co-ordinate future events on the subject, and the like.
To this aim, I have set up the JISCMAIL mailing list
"GENDER-INCLUSIVE-LANGUAGE". All interested colleagues are cordially invited
to join, and to contribute. The list can be used to inform colleagues about
our research, share your plans, make everybody aware of future conference
presentations, talks, and publications; but also to suggest future workshops,
conferences, brainstormings, and the like.
As of now, 65 colleagues have signed up, and the list is currently still
relatively quiet. It can be found here:
https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/wa-jisc.exe?A0=GENDER-INCLUSIVE-LANGUAGE
To make it alive and active, people can join and introduce themselves here:
https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/wa-jisc.exe?SUBED1=GENDER-INCLUSIVE-LANGUAG
E&A=1
Please note that signup is not confirmed automatically but moderated, so it
could take a day or so until your signup is confirmed.
Please do feel free to pass on this information to interested individuals and
suitable organisations.
Thank you.
Best wishes,
Falco
