Meeting Description:
The 26th Workshop on Structure and Constituency in Languages of the Americas
(WSCLA 26) is being hosted by McGill University in Montréal, Canada and will
take place in person on 28–30 April 2023. WSCLA is an annual conference
devoted to the formal, theoretically-informed linguistic study of Indigenous
languages of North, Central, and South America.
Call for Papers:
Abstracts are invited for papers about any Indigenous languages of the
Americas in any area of formal linguistics including phonetics, phonology,
morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics. Formal analysis can be
presented within any theoretical framework. Talks addressing diachronic,
sociolinguistic or experimental topics from a formal perspective are welcome.
We particularly encourage talks that connect linguistic research with work on
language stabilization and language revitalization.
