Linguistic Field(s): Syntax

Call Deadline: 08-May-2023

Meeting Description:

The Seoul International Conference on Generative Grammar (SICOGG) is
an annual conference bringing together generative linguistics from
East Asia and around the world to present and discuss current research
related to generative syntax and its interfaces. Each year, SICOGG
invites a keynote speaker to deliver a series of lectures on a special
topic related to the speaker’s current research. SICOGG 25 will take
place at Dongguk University in Seoul, Korea, from August 14 - 16,
2023. The conference will be hosted by the Korean Generative Grammar
Circle.

The general session of SICOGG 25 features a series of invited lectures
by Professor Rajesh Bhatt (University of Massachusetts). The theme of
SICOGG25 is The Syntax and Semantics of Polarity and Questions. We
especially invite papers on the topic The Syntax and Semantics of
Polarity and Questions. However, equal consideration will be given to
papers from all areas of generative grammar, which may include
syntactic theory, the syntax-pragmatics interface, the
syntax-semantics interface, the syntax-morphology interface, the
syntax-phonology interface, syntactic acquisition, and any other topic
related to generative grammar. Applicants for oral/poster
presentations must submit their abstracts by May 8th, 2023.

Call for Papers:

Abstracts should be submitted on EasyChair at
https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=sicogg25. Follow the online
guidelines to upload your abstract. Only electronic submissions
through the aforementioned link will be considered. Abstracts must be
anonymous and may not exceed 2 pages (A4 or US letter), including
examples (embedded within the text) but not references, with 2.54 cm
(1 inch) margin on all four sides and should employ 12 point Times New
Roman font. As references do not count toward the page limit, you are
requested to include a full list of references on a third page.
Submissions are limited to a maximum of one individual and one joint
abstract per author, or two joint abstracts per author. Please
indicate whether the submitted work is proposed for a poster, an oral
presentation, or either. Abstracts must be submitted no later than May
8th, 2023. Authors will be notified of acceptance or rejection on or
after June 12, 2023. Each speaker will be allotted 20 minutes for
their oral presentation and 10 minutes for discussion.
