Meeting Description:
Following previous Neo-Aramaic conferences in Cambridge, Jerusalem,
Warsaw and Uppsala, the fifth international conference on Neo-Aramaic
Languages, titled "Neo-Aramaic Languages - State of Research", will
take place at Bogazici University from 26th to 28th October 2023. The
event is co-organized by the Chair for Semitic Studies of the Freie
Universität Berlin (Shabo Talay) and the Department of Linguistics at
Boğaziçi University in Istanbul (Metin Bagriacik).
The conference serves as a forum of scientific exchange for scholars
working on any aspects of the Neo-Aramaic languages (North-Eastern
Neo-Aramaic, Ṭuroyo/Surayt, Western Neo-Aramaic and Neo-Mandaic),
including their contact with neighbouring languages.
Registration fee and additional information
Registration is free of charge. Pre-reservation for 9 rooms (the
maximum capacity) has been made at two guest-houses on the campus for
25-29 October. The price and further information will be posted in due
time.

Call for Papers:
Abstracts not longer than one A4 paper (excluding references) should
be sent by May 31, 2023 to nalcon2023 at gmail.com.
Please include the following information in your e-mail:
title of paper, your surname, name, affiliation, and corresponding
e-mail address.
Authors will be notified by June 30.
The university team is working on a website with the address
(https://nalcon2023.boun.edu.tr), which will be published in due time.
The practical information about the conference will be announced
there.
