Meeting Description:

The organisers of the third Globalising Sociolinguistics conference
(GloSoc3) call out to scholars in the field of Sociolinguistics,
General Linguistics and the Social Sciences to join us in discussing
the theme of 'Language and Inequality' in a broad sense. Participants
are asked to demonstrate the detrimental workings of language choices
- both spoken and written - leading to inequalities. Preference is
given to research based on empirical data.

Call for Papers:

ABSTRACTS

Papers need to demonstrate how language choices, both conscious or
subconscious, may reflect or perpetuate inequalities. Please send
abstracts (200 words, not including references) to sapks at tlu.ee. Give
the abstract a title and write down four keywords underneath this
title. The overview of abstract keywords on https://www.tlu.ee/en/ht/r
esearch/international-conference-globalising-sociolinguistics-3 serves
as an indicator of the thematic outlines of this conference as well as
inspiration for your abstract. Please read these before submitting.

PANELS

Individual papers are welcome. In addition, please consider organising
a panel on a specific theme related to the conference theme. Inform
the organisers (sapks at tlu.ee) of your plans. We may help you find
extra panel members.
