Call for Papers:

Ilha do Desterro is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal published
by the University of Santa Catarina (UFSC, Brazil). With a long and
solid tradition of publishing research in English Literature,
Linguistics and Cultural Studies, the journal has been recognized as a
high-quality venue for second language (L2) pronunciation research
(Levis & Sonsaat, 2020). Building on this strength, the editors of
this special issue invite manuscripts that investigate second or
foreign language pronunciation from acquisitional and pedagogical
perspectives. This issue will gather original, previously unpublished
papers covering a variety of themes related, but not limited, to the
acquisition and teaching of L2 pronunciation, such as (a)
pronunciation teaching in different contexts (classroom,
technology-mediated, EFL/ESL, etc.);  (b) teacher training, teachers’
beliefs, cognitions and practices regarding pronunciation instruction;
(c) comprehensibility, intelligibility and accentedness in L2
pronunciation; (d) approaches to English as a Lingua
Franca/International Language and pronunciation; and (e)
bilingualism/multilingualism and the acquisition of pronunciation.

Questions can be directed to the guest editors.

Submitted articles will be subject to the double-blind peer review
process of the journal. We welcome contributions in English or
Portuguese.
