Subject: Acquisition Sketch Project - Online Meeting #4 - Ethics
Dear Colleagues,
The Acquisition Sketch Project is an initiative to increase diversity
in the languages for which we have information about acquisition
patterns (https://acquisition-sketch.phil-fak.uni-koeln.de). We
provide detailed guidelines for creating an acquisition sketch based
on five hours of data, and provide support through bimonthly online
meetings and personal consultation.
The next instalment of our online meetings discussing the Acquisition
Sketch Project will be on Wednesday the 13th of December at two times:
- 9am UTC +1 (Berlin time) / 7pm UTC +11 (Sydney time)
- 5pm UTC +1 (Berlin time) / 8am UTC -8 (San Fransisco time) / 11am
UTC -5 (New York time)
We will focus on Ethics of data collection and storage, discussing how
to talk with prospective families, details of informed consent, and
ethics of access to the resulting data.
Currently, we are stepping our way through the topics in the Sketch
Acquisition Manual
(https://nflrc.hawaii.edu/ldc/sp28-the-acquisition-sketch-project/) -
this meeting covers section 2.2.4 of Part 1 of the Manual.
We look forward to seeing many of you again on Wednesday 13th
December. The session will also be uploaded to our YouTube channel:
https://www.youtube.com/@AcquisitionSketchProject. There you can find
the recording of the first three sessions as well.
