Meeting Description:

The Graduate Student Organization for Spanish Literature and
Linguistics (SPAGrad) at Arizona State University (ASU) invites you to
participate in our annual Hispanic Literature and Linguistics
Conference. We are eager to accept papers and posters with diverse
theoretical topics and perspectives that put into discussion the wide
range of human aesthetic and linguistic expression from Latin America
(including Brazilian literature) and beyond the Americas.
Presentations may be in English and/or Spanish.

Call for Papers:

Please send your proposals to the following email:

Proposals will be accepted in Spanish and English. The abstract should
have a maximum of 250 words (for literature) and 500 words (for
linguistics) words in the language that it will be presented in.
Abstracts must contain the following information: title of
presentation, name of presenter, name of the affiliated institution,
email, 5-6 keywords, and a short bio that does not exceed 150 words
(on the same document as your abstract). Each presenter will be given
20 minutes (approximately 8 pages double spaced if the presentation
will be read) to present, and 10 additional minutes for a Q&A session.
The deadline for abstracts will be January 26, 2024. The organizing
committee will communicate their decision two weeks after receiving
the proposal. Please confirm your attendance before February 23, 2024
via email or contact Francisco Carrillo, co-chair of literature
(ccarri27 at asu.edu) or Hunter Langenhorst, co-chair of linguistics
(hlangenh at asu.edu).
This year’s conference will be held in-person only. The admission fee
is $30 and will be paid upon registration.
