The Lexicology of Languages for Specific Purposes Research Group
(LexESP) and the Natural Language and Information Systems Group (Grupo
de Procesamiento del Lenguaje natural y Sistemas de Información,GPLSI)
are pleased to announce the VII International Conference on English
and ESP Lexicology and Lexicography with a special focus on
theoretical and applied approaches to lexicology and lexicography from
Computational Linguistics, Corpus Linguistics and Artificial
Intelligence. The Conference will be held at the University of
Alicante (Spain) on May 9-10, 2024.

The organising committee encourages the submission of extended
abstracts (500-600 words, excluding title, references and keywords)
for papers, round-tables and/or workshops on, amongst others, any of

• Theoretical and Applied research in Specialized corpora
• Methodologies for building specialised corpora
• Techniques for manual and automatic annotation of corpora

• Tool development and evaluation for corpus creation and
analysis
• Integration of machine learning techniques in corpus tools
• Ensuring ethical practices in corpus collection and annotation
• Bias and fairness implications in corpus-based research
• Impact of Artificial Intelligence on linguistic uses in
specialised contexts
• Building semantic networks and ontologies from large corpora
• Representing and organising lexical meanings computationally
• Case studies demonstrating successful interdisciplinary
research in lexical studies
• Large corpora and Automatic Text Simplification
• Fake news and AI
• Linguistics aspects of Natural Language Generation
• Text Summarisation
Abstracts will be submitted at the Easy-chair platform.
The text should be submitted single-spaced. Use Times New Roman (12
points). Place the title at the top and centre of the page on which
the text begins. Capitalise only the first letter of the first word
and all other significant words (nouns, adjectives, verbs and adverbs)
as well as proper nouns.
