Theme: "Second language learning and teaching in a changing world:
Challenges and opportunities"
Objectives: ILTAL 2023 is a conference dedicated to exploring the
challenges that language learners and teachers are facing in a rapidly
changing digital world, and how those challenges might lead to new
opportunities in the future of language policy and practice, as well
as our society in general. This event is intended to be a platform for
researchers, teacher trainers, policymakers, principals, teachers, and
graduate students to converse, exchange, and share their research,
experience, and ideas about language policy, practice, and technology
in education. Technology is impacting language, people and society at
large, and this conference seeks to investigate what these impacts
are.
Call for Papers:
Proposals are welcome in the following topic strands (suggested but
not limited to the below):
Language Policy and Planning
English as Medium of Instruction / Content-Language Integrated
Learning in Asian contexts and beyond
Family Language Policy
Bi/multilingualism in Education
Translanguaging in Education
The Impact of Technology on Assessment
Intercultural Communication
Curriculum, Syllabus and Materials Design
Classroom Interaction
Language Teacher Education
Digital Literacies
Technology and Language Teaching and Learning
Multimodality in Language Education
Positive psychology in SLA
Learner and teacher wellbeing
Abstracts:
Language requirement: English (Please fill in the titles and keywords
on the application form)
Word limit: 150-200 words (excluding references)
Content: Research background, objectives, methods and outcomes (Please
do not send full papers)
Applicants will be notified of the review result by the end of
September through emails.
