The Department of Romance Studies and Classics is placed at the
Faculty of Humanities and has about 70 employees and around 1,000
students per year. The main research areas are Literature Research,
Romance Linguistics and Second Language Acquisition and
Multilingualism.
As a PhD student you have the opportunity to participate in The
Faculty's Doctoral School, which offers courses of interdisciplinarity
and cooperation across subject borders. The Doctoral School can
improve the quality of your education thanks to the interchange with
PhD students from other subjects and departments. Only a person who
will be or has already been admitted to a third-cycle programme may be
appointed to a doctoral studentship. The term of the initial contract
may not exceed one year. The employment may be extended for a maximum
