Applications are invited for appointment as Professor/Associate

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Linguistics, or a related field. The

The appointee will be thoroughly familiar with the cutting-edge

statistical, and typological-comparative methods relevant to their
area(s) of specialization.

The appointee is expected to develop a vigorous, independent research
programme, to excel in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, to
have substantial administrative experience and demonstrate a
willingness to take on leadership roles appropriate to their rank.
They should also have an established and expanding international
research profile in their field and demonstrate readiness to
collaborate across academic units. The teaching load will be three to
four courses per year, including introductory first-year courses.
Information about the Linguistics Programme can be obtained at
http://linguistics.hku.hk. Enquiries may be sent to Dr. Kofi Yakpo,
Chairperson, Linguistics Programme (see e-mail below).

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and
experience will be offered. Other benefits include annual leave and

gyms and libraries. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.

The University only accepts online application for the above post.
Applicants should apply online at the University’s careers site
(https://jobs.hku.hk) and upload:
 - a cover letter;
 - a CV;
 - a list of published and accepted publications.
Shortlisted candidates will be asked to arrange for three letters of
reference to be sent in at a later stage of the search. Review of
applications will commence on May 15, 2023 and continue until June 30,
2023 or until the post is filled.
