Meeting Description:
The Symposium is an international event that the Department of
Theoretical and Applied Linguistics, School of English at the
Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, has been organising since 1987,
initially annually and since 2003 biennially. Over the years the
Symposium has been established as one of the leading conferences in
Theoretical and Applied Linguistics organised in Greece. It has
offered the opportunity to international and national delegates to
discuss state-of-the art developments in the field, to interact, to
establish new collaborations and to enjoy a welcoming and stimulating
environment for the exchange and elaboration of new ideas and the
promotion of new avenues in research.

CALL FOR PAPERS
The Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics of the School of
English, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, is pleased to announce
the 26th International Symposium on Theoretical and Applied
Linguistics (ISTAL 26) to be held on 19-21 April 2024 at the Aristotle
University Research Dissemination Center.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
We invite abstract submissions for oral or poster presentations on any
aspect of theoretical and applied linguistics that should meet the
following guidelines:
- Abstracts must be anonymous and written in English or Greek.
- They should be up to one page long (single spaced, 2.5cm margins on
all sides, 12pt Times New Roman font size). The one-page limit
includes any examples, tables, graphs, references, etc.
- Abstracts should be submitted as PDF files via the Abstract
Submission Form
(https://www.new.enl.auth.gr/istal26/abstract-submission/). Abstracts
submitted via email will not be considered.
- Authors should indicate whether the abstract is to be considered for
an oral presentation, a poster presentation, or both. Note that all
oral presentations will be 20 minutes, followed by a
10-minute-discussion.
- There is a limit of up to two abstracts per author (two
single-authored papers or one single-authored and one co-authored or
two co-authored papers). This restriction applies irrespective of
whether papers are submitted to general or thematic sessions.
