Meeting Description:
The Society of Linguistics Undergraduate Students at the University of
Toronto has been organizing the annual Toronto Undergraduate
Linguistics Conference (TULCON), one of the first academic conferences
for undergrad linguists in North America, since its first iteration in
March 2008. TULCON is usually held in early March at St. George Campus
of the University of Toronto.
Over the years, we have the pleasure to welcome many distinguished
undergrad linguists from across the world to present their fascinating
research. We are also honoured to host our keynote speakers who devote
their time to discuss some interesting and important topics in
linguistics today with our audience. TULCON is an opportunity for
undergraduate students to present original research in any subfield of
linguistics.
Call for Papers:
TULCON 17 is officially accepting applications for both oral and
poster presentations. Presentations will take place from March 9-10th
at the University of Toronto St. George Campus. Both oral and poster
presentations will be in person. Please do not submit if you cannot
travel to Downtown Toronto during that weekend. Oral presentations
should be 20 minutes long with a 10 minute question period. The
deadline to submit abstracts is January 5th, 2024 at 11:59 pm EST.
Submissions are limited to two works total per person, only one of
which can be co-authored. If you are submitting multiple abstracts you
must fill out separate forms for each submission.
Abstracts will anonymously be reviewed and selected by members of the
SLUGS executive council. We will contact you via email when the
abstract review is complete, which will be within two weeks after the
deadline. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please
