Support us as in part-time (50 %) from April 1st, 2024 as a Doctoral
student or postdoc (m/f/d) in the field of Slavic Linguistics and
Cultural Studies.
In accordance with § 2 WissZeitVG and § 72 HessHG, the position is to
be filled on a fixed-term basis at the Chair of Slavic Linguistics and
Cultural Studies, Institute for Slavic Philology at the Faculty of
Language, Literature, Culture. We expect, that you use the position
for your own academic qualification (PhD or Habilitation). The salary
is in accordance with the collective labour agreement of the State of
Hessen (E 13 TV-H).
As long as the maximum permissible duration of a fixed-term contract
is not exceeded, you will be employed for an initial period of 3
years. An extension for up to another 2 years (postdoc: 3 years) is
possible under the above-mentioned condition.
Your tasks at a glance
- Opportunity for own academic and didactic qualification, activities
in research and teaching according to § 72 HessHG
- Taking on teaching duties according to the teaching obligation
ordinance of the state of Hessen
Your qualifications and competences
- You have successfully studied Slavic Philology or Indoeuropean
Linguistics, have active competence in at least one Slavic language
out of the language portfolio of JLU, and you have philological
competence in other Slavic languages, preferably West or East Slavic;
a solid knowledge in historical Slavic linguistics will be a plus
- A good or very good Master‘s Theses or equivalent university degree
is obligatory
- You are interested in cultural studies and interdiciplinary
research within JLU's institutions (GiZo, GCSC) and the international
cooperations of the Institute of Slavic Philology
- A basic knowledge of German is required, but a fluent mastery of
German will not be obligatory at the beginning of the employment. In
this case, however, we expect you to extend your competencies in
German in the first year after your appointment in order to then be
able of teaching in German.
