Meeting Description:
Linguistic Evidence is a biannual conference, founded in 2004 at the
University of Tübingen (https://uni-tuebingen.de/en/research/core-rese
arch/collaborative-research-centers/crc-833/linguistic-evidence/),
whose aim is to improve empirical adequacy in linguistic theory
formation. LE provides a forum for exchange for researchers from all
subfields of linguistics who wish to better integrate data-driven and
theory-driven approaches to language, and to discuss methods of data
collection and analysis. The conference welcomes contributions using,
e.g., quantitative-experimental work, fieldwork, corpus studies, and
particularly welcomes interdisciplinary work. LE 2024 will be hosted
by the Collaborative Research Center 1287 "Limits of Variability in
Language: Cognitive, Computational, and Grammatical Aspects", funded
by the German Research Foundation (project number 317 633 480 – SFB
1287; https://www.sfb1287.uni-potsdam.de/en/)
Invited speakers:
Luisa Marti (Queen Mary University of London)
Wolfram Ziegler (LMU München)
Call for Papers:
We invite abstracts from all fields of linguistics which either:
(a) apply data from linguistic corpora, psycholinguistic and
neurolinguistic experimentation, language acquisition, language
pathology, fieldwork, or other sources to linguistic issues
(b) make use of quantifiable or replicable evidence to produce novel
analyses or perspectives on questions of the representation,
processing, or acquisition of linguistic systems
(c) offer insights into promising new methods of data collection,
processing, and analysis which may be of interest to linguistic
research.
Submission:
We invite abstracts for 40-minute talks (30+10) or for poster
presentations; please indicate your preference in the abstract (to be
