The Linguistics Program and Department of English at William & Mary, a
public university of the Commonwealth of Virginia, seeks applications
for a tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level in
Linguistics. Appointment will begin August 10, 2024. We are seeking
applicants with research expertise in the semantics of an
under-studied language.
Duties include research, teaching, and service to the University. The
applicant is expected to establish and maintain a vibrant research
program that inspires a highly motivated undergraduate student body.
Teaching expectation is 2 courses per semester. Successful applicants
must possess the skills to teach compelling courses in semantics,
syntax, computational methods, and contribute to the teaching of our
introductory course.
Submit a curriculum vitae, a cover letter, a statement of teaching
interests, a statement of research interests, and evidence of
effective teaching using the link below. While a diversity statement
is not required, candidates are encouraged to reflect on their past
experiences or future plans to foster an inclusive and welcoming
climate for learners/scholars in Linguistics in any of the
