Meeting Description:

The Department of Linguistics is happy to announce that SFU will host
the next Cascadia Workshop in Sociolinguistics (CWSL) in person on
April 26, 2024.

This student-centered event has the primary aim of bringing together
researchers working on sociolinguistic topics of interest in the
Pacific Northwest and building community among sociolinguists at
institutions in the region. Talks will be 15 minutes in length with 15
minutes for questions.

Abstracts are invited on any topic in sociolinguistics, including
discourse analysis, linguistic anthropology, and other related fields.
Abstracts should be anonymous, they should not exceed 300 words
(excluding references), and they should be submitted electronically to
cwsl2024 at gmail.com.
 We particularly welcome submissions from students (undergraduate,
honors, graduate).

Registration fee: $20 CAD
Deadline for abstract submission: January 15 2024, 11:59pm PST
