Meeting Description:

Africa is home to over 2100 languages, including originally foreign
languages such as English and French. African linguistics is a diverse
and multidisciplinary field that focuses on the study of these
languages. Doing research in African linguistics presents a myriad of
challenges; not only do researchers grapple with issues stemming from
the state of the art, but they also confront challenges related to the
applicability of methodologies and approaches available to them. In
the spirit of fostering intellectual discourse, this virtual
conference is designed to provide a platform for both African and
non-African scholars engaged in African linguistics research to
present papers rooted in empirical data or analytical perspectives,
each addressing a specific aspect of African linguistics. These
contributions are expected to shed new light on the existing
challenges inherent in doing empirical research within this field and,
if possible, propose insightful suggestions and recommendations.

The Centre for Language Research and English Proficiency (CLAREP)
welcomes abstract submissions of up to 300 words for 20-minute
presentations. Please send your abstracts to clarep at gmail.com and copy
