Description:
The Department of Linguistics at Brigham Young University announces a
position for a full-time faculty in the field of linguistics,
encouraging those at any career stage to apply. This Continuing
Faculty Status-track (similar to tenure-track) position entails
teaching courses, conducting research and mentoring students at the BA
and MA levels. We seek candidates who are capable of teaching courses
in computational linguistics and natural language processing, as well
as some core areas of linguistics. Courses will be aimed at
linguistics major, minors, and MA students, as well as students in
other related fields/majors (e.g., computer science, digital
humanities).
We seek candidates who can actively contribute to teaching and
mentoring students in our department's minor in Linguistic Computing,
BA and MA in Linguistics, and BA in Applied English Linguistics, and
possibly our other programs including an MA in TESOL and BA in Editing

foundational knowledge and tools to apply computational methods to
natural languages. Additionally, our Linguistics MA has four

of Linguistics provides a supportive, collaborative atmosphere that
contributes to the development of faculty research agendas in a range
