Description:

Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Faculty of Language and Literature,
Department German Language and Linguistics seeks to fill the position
of a junior researcher (=Wissenschaftliche*r Mitarbeiter*in at the
doctoral level) with 65% part-time employment – E 13 TV-L HU
(Third-party funding limited to 36 months).

Field of duty:
 - collaboration in the DFG-funded research project "Socio-economic
transformations, communicative practices and indigenous grammars:
understanding current developments in Yucatec Maya”;
 - field research on Yucatec Maya in the areas of morpho-syntax and
semantics;
 - presentation and publication of research results;
 - tasks for own scientific qualification (PhD).

We expect:
 - completed university studies (Master's, Magister, or comparable
degree) in General Linguistics or a related subject;
 - knowledge of grammar theory (especially in the area of
morpho-syntax);
 - expertise in empirical research (field research, handling
quantitative data)
 - very good command of English;
 - experience with under-researched languages desirable;
 - knowledge of German and/or Spanish desirable.
