Meeting Description:
The "Changing Boundaries: The Second International Workshop on
Language and Brain" (for convenience, we use CB 2024 as the short form
of the conference) is an online workshop dedicated to investigating
the profound relationship between language and the human brain. This
event honors the significant contributions of Professor Noam Chomsky
to the field of linguistics and cognitive neuroscience.
In light of ongoing debates sparked by advancements in artificial
intelligence, particularly the rise of Large Language Models (LLMs)
like ChatGPT, we invite researchers to submit their studies that
provide empirical evidence or theoretical frameworks related to the
faculty of language as it pertains to the human brain.
Key Topics of Interest:
1. Chomsky’s theory regarding language and the human brain
2. Comparative analyses between LLMs and human brain capabilities
regarding language competence
3. Development of syntactic structures in children's brains and its
connection to syntactic cartography
4. The influence of aging on syntactic structures within the brain
and its connection to syntactic cartography
5. Other related issues at the intersection of language and brain
science
