Meeting Description:

The Research Group on Multilingual Acquisition (GRAM) at UIC Barcelona
is proud to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Annual Spring
Research Conference. The purpose of the conference is to gather
specialists in bi/multilingualism research from different
methodological perspectives.

The 10th Annual Spring Research Conference will be held entirely in
person on Friday, 14 March 2025, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the UIC
Barcelona Campus (Terré, 11-19, 08017 Barcelona).

- Dr Francisco Lorenzo (Universidad Pablo de Olavide, Sevilla, Spain).
- Dr Pilar Mur (Universidad Zaragoza, Zaragoza, Spain).

Call for Papers:

We invite proposals for communications, oral presentations and
posters, related to the study of bi/multilingualism and teaching and
learning in multilingual contexts within the areas of Linguistics,
Applied Linguistics and Psycholinguistics. We encourage submissions
from the following subfields that correspond to empirical, original
studies. Abstracts detailing literature reviews and theoretical
proposals will not be
accepted.
 ● Language acquisition and learning
 ● Language teaching approaches (TBLT, CLIL, EMI)
 ● Psycholinguistics
 ● The cognitive and linguistic effects of multilingualism
 ● AI in language teaching and learning
 ● Teacher education

Types of Communications:

We invite submissions for the following types of communications. Only
a limited number of communications can be accepted. Therefore, in some
cases, a change in the type of communication may be suggested. Each
participant may submit one abstract in authorship and a second one in
co-authorship.
 ● Individual or joint presentations are given 20 minutes to formally
present (+ 10-minute of discussion). Original, empirical research
should be presented, and preference will be given to robust, completed
studies with results.
 ● Poster presentations (print size A0, vertical) display research
visually throughout the duration of the conference.

Presenters are expected to informally answer questions and discuss
their posters with attendees during a designated 30 minute poster
session. Posters may present completed empirical studies or ongoing
studies with partial results.

Abstract Requirements:

Anonymous abstracts must be submitted by 30 September 2024 by filling
in the SUBMISSION FORM (https://survey.sogolytics.com/r/3byac7).
Notification of acceptance will be sent out in November 2024.
 ● Abstract (word limit: 400) + References.
 ● The abstract must contain Title, Introduction, Objectives, Methods,
Results, and Conclusion. It is not required that the sections be
explicitly labeled as such. Figures should not be included in the
abstract.
 ● References must be included and formatted in APA 7th ed. for the
submission to be eligible for acceptance.
