Subject: A New Online Master's Degree of Systemic Functional Linguistics at Complutense University of Madrid
The Permanent Training Master's degree in Systemic Functional
Linguistics: Theory and Application provides students with a general
foundation and an attractive range of courses dealing with application
and expanding on descriptive and theoretical topics. SFL is presented
as a resource for engaging with language and other semiotic systems in
their contexts of culture; this engagement covers both expert
scientific knowledge about language and semiotic systems in general
and expert skills needed in the analysis of texts (discourses) and the
development of descriptions of linguistic systems based on texts, both
small samples and large corpora. In short, students will be empowered
both to reflect and to act. The first edition of this Master's degree
will be starting in January 2025.
