Meeting Description:
The Cultural Linguistics International Conference series provides a
dialog between language and a variety of fields, including
anthropology, psychology, sociology, and education. Its
interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary orientation primarily examines
the relationship between language and culture, especially with
particular emphasis on cultural cognition.

At the 5th Cultural Linguistics International Conference (CLIC 2025),
we will explore various levels of analysis from diverse perspectives
aligned with the social and cultural approach. The conference is not
restricted to any particular school or model, offering a broad
perspective on language and culture.

Accepted theme sessions
After the selection process, the following panel sessions have been
accepted:
1. Language, Culture, and Evolution. Organizers: Arie Verhagen
(Leiden University, The Netherlands), Michael Pleyer (Nicolaus
Copernicus University in Toruń, Poland), and Gábor Györi (Selye Janos
University, Komárno, Slovakia).
2. Language, Culture, and Embodiment in Quantitative Measurement.
Organizers: Vera da Silva Sinha (University of Oxford, Great Britain)
and Judit Baranyiné Kóczy (University of Pannonia, Hungary).
3. The biographer’s voice in English (auto-)biographical
narratives of past female childhoods. Organizer: Paloma Tejada Caller
(Complutense University of Madrid, Spain)
4. Identidades, expresiones y estrategias: el discurso femenino
en lengua Española desde el siglo XVI hasta la actualidad. Organizers:
Elena Marín Serrano and Patricia Fernández Martín (Autonomous
University of Madrid, Spain)
5. El efecto de la inmersión académica en España en estudiantes
hispanounidenses. Organizer: Francisco Salgado-Robles (City University
of New York, USA).
The accepted theme sessions are now open for contributions from other
interested researchers, provided their individual abstracts align with
the session's theme. Participants have two options: they may submit
their individual abstracts to one of the specific theme sessions
listed above or to the general session.
Abstract submission guidelines
The submission should include: author’s name, affiliation, e-mail
address, presentation title. Anonymized abstracts of 400-500 words
including references should be submitted in a separate Word document
and be sent to clic2025 at ucm.es
Important dates:
31 December 2024: Deadline for abstract submissions
1 January 2025: Registration opens
31 January 2025: Notification of acceptance
16 March 2025: Deadline for early-bird registration
4 May 2025: Deadline for participant registration
The 5th CLIC will feature plenary lectures, thematic sessions, round
tables, oral communication sessions, and business meeting.
Selected papers will be published in journals and monographic volumes.
