Subject: VoxArs, automatic phonetic transcription based on acoustic spectral analysis

A new version of VoxArs (initially announced in
https://linguistlist.org/issues/35/1555/) is now functional. It does
phonetic transcriptions of speech in any linguistic variant and with a
degree of granularity that no phonetician or ASR systeml can achieve.
The VoxArs.011 version includes:
- more accurate characterization of inharmonic, harmonic and hybrid
segments
- improved calibration of sonority thresholds by frequencies
- clearer depiction of gradual versus abrupt changes in perceived
sound sequences
- a table of phonetics notes that more closely resembles IPA sound
expectations

These improvements can be appreciated in renewed transcriptions of
recordings afforded by the Handbook of the International Phonetic
Association (except Igbo because of its noisy recordings) which may be
seen at:

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1BCs7duGIMqyE04OtMnciltJ0N4aUzfR6
or
https://www.icloud.com/iclouddrive/01bU0BJLPCxsKKbzyz35bbSpw#Spectral_analyses

Since outputted data will be identical each time the automatic
analysis is performed with VoxArs.011 and will always abide by the
Table of Phonetic Notes (as provided in the same sites), users of
these transcriptions may, for example:

- build large transcribed corpora for unwritten linguistic variants
- reduce the cost and improve the quality of pronunciation lexicons
and data for LLMs
- open new avenues for the acoustic analysis of consonants and vowels
across languages
- facilitate accurate segmentation in experimental programs such as
PRAAT

I sell phonetic transcription services and may grant licenses to
institutions or companies. Feel free to send an email to
boris.fridmanmintz at gmail.com with an attached 1 minute recording, or
sets of 100 recorded words, in wav monoaural file format, in any
language. As soon as possible I will reply to you with the
corresponding transcription files.

VoxArs.011 is protected by patents granted in Australia, China, Hong
Kong, Mexico, Republic of Korea and USA (more are on the way).
