The Department of Linguistics at the Université du Québec à Montréal
(UQAM) would like to invite those interested in pursuing an MA or a
PhD to submit an application. Applications for admission to the Fall
trimester must be received by May 1, 2025 (March 1st for international
candidates). Application deadlines for candidates wishing to start in
the Winter term (January) must apply by November 1st (August 1st for
international candidates).

The language of instruction and departmental life at UQAM is French,
but MA theses and PhD dissertations may be submitted in another
language with permission of the student’s committee and the
Department.

Students (both MA and PhD) are admissible for numerous student
bursaries. PhD students automatically receive guaranteed funding
through UQAM's doctoral bursary program.

state-of-the-art training in all fields of linguistic theory as well
as numerous other areas of linguistics:

Programmes de cycles supérieurs (maîtrise et doctorat) en linguistique
à l’Université du Québec à Montréal

Le Département de linguistique de l’Université du Québec à Montréal
(UQAM) souhaite inviter les personnes intéressées à poursuivre des
études de maîtrise ou de doctorat à soumettre leur demande
d’admission. Les dates limites pour les demandes d'admission pour
l'automne est le 1er mai 2025 (1er mars pour les personnes provenant
de l'international) et pour l'hiver, le 1er novembre (1er août pour
les personnes provenant de l'international.

Nous offrons de nombreuses bourses à l'interne à la maîtrise ainsi
qu'au doctorat. Les personnes admises au doctorat bénéficient d'un
soutien automatique via le programme de bourses de soutien universel
au doctorat.

recherche procurant une formation de pointe dans l’ensemble des champs
de la linguistique théorique ainsi que dans de nombreux autres champs
