Description:
The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures, Faculty of Modern
Languages, at Goethe University Frankfurt invites applications for a
position as a Postdoctoral researcher (m/f/d) (E13 TV-G-U) to be
filled on 01 April 2024 within the project “INF: Scientific services
and data management”. The project is part of the CRC 1629 “Negation in
Language and Beyond (NegLaB)” funded by the German Science Foundation
(Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG). The position will be a
full-time position limited until 31 December 2027. The salary grade is
based on the job characteristics of the collective agreement (TV-G-U)
applicable to Goethe University.
Expectations and tasks:
The project seeks to develop workflows to ensure the reproducibility
and long-term sustainability of research data, as well as the
development of new statistical and computational tools, including
multimodal and eye-tracking methods. The successful candidate is
expected to work collaboratively in the project and to actively
participate in the courses, workshops, and events offered by the CRC.
We are looking for a highly qualified candidate, who will: (a) offer
consulting and support in the planning and analysis of experiments;
(b) participate in the management, curation and archiving of data in
the public domain in order to ensure reproducibility and long-term
sustainability.

Requirements:
- a Ph.D. in cognitive science, psycholinguistics, or a field related
to data management
- demonstrable experience with different psycholinguistic paradigms
(i.e., experimental methods in language production and comprehension)
- demonstrable experience with frequentist and Bayesian statistical
frameworks and interest in statistical modelling
- extensive programming knowledge of R, Python, or similar
- interest in open science practices and data management
- good language skills in English and/or German
