Subject: Recruiting Advanced Learners of Mandarin for an Online Study

Hello! My name is Vanessa Sheu, a PhD student at Purdue University. I
am currently recruiting advanced speakers of Mandarin who are native
English speakers, who did not grow up in a Mandarin-speaking
household, and who are based in the U.S. Advanced is defined as having
taken three and a half years of Mandarin at a college level (e.g.,
301-level or higher) or having immersive experiences that are
equivalent.

Interested individuals are invited to take part in an online
linguistic study, Aural Processing and Spoken Production of Mandarin
Garden-Path Sentences in Native, L2, and Heritage Speakers: The Role
of Semantic Plausibility (IRB-2022-387), led by Dr. Elaine Francis.
Tasks involve listening to and saying Mandarin sentences and will take
place on a computer.

The session will take 75-90 minutes on 1 day. Participants will be
compensated $15.

Please contact sheuv at purdue.edu for more details.

A million thanks, linguist friends!
