Description:
All undergrad and graduate students of linguistics and related fields
are invited to participate in the 1st Summer School in Language
Science and Technology which will take place on September 16-20 at the
University of Warsaw, Poland and online.
The school will include specialised courses on various aspects of
language science and natural language processing tools and techniques.
We will host experts from several universities and from the industry
who will share their knowledge and skills with the attendees during
lectures and hands-on workshop sessions.
In particular, there will be several sessions involving acoustic
analysis, forensic phonetics and corpus phonetics, as well as
Python-based acoustic data extraction. We also offer a range of
courses concerning the theory and practice of Large Language Models
use, automatic speech recognition and the use of digital tools in
language documentation and revitalisation. Finally, there will be
several courses in psycholinguistics and clinical linguistics,
including (corpus) semantics, language in ADHD and dyslexia, and
aphasia.
Students will be able to sign up for particular courses or the whole
summer school en bloc. Full information and the link to the

The total cost of the school regardless of the number of courses
attended is EUR 50. Depending on the number of places left and on your
preferences, you can attend the school either in person or online.
