Meeting Description:
The past two decades witnessed waves of diversified contexts of
learning and teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language, bringing the field
to shores beyond the traditionally strong Oriental and Religious
Studies. Teaching Arabic across Contexts explores the diverse
methodologies and approaches to teaching Arabic in various educational
settings and cultural backgrounds. It aims to address the challenges
and opportunities that arise when Arabic is taught as a foreign
language across different contexts, including formal classroom
environments in diverse educational programs, study abroad, informal
and community schools, or online platforms, and at different
proficiency levels. It aims to unite educators, scholars, and
practitioners from Europe and beyond to exchange insights, research
findings, and discuss the evolution and innovation in the field of
Arabic language education.
Call for Papers:
The conference invites submissions of abstracts for presentations,
papers (30 min.), workshops and panels (60 min.) on the theme of the

Abstract submission guidelines:
Abstracts are accepted via MCT using this link:
https://cmt3.research.microsoft.com/6ENTA2024
Deadline for abstract submission is August 2, 2024 (anywhere in the
world).
Abstracts for workshops, panels, and presentations can be submitted in
Arabic or English.
Abstracts for papers are accepted in English.
Paper abstracts should be of original, not previously published
research on Arabic pedagogy, language, linguistics, and culture as
they relate to teaching Arabic as a foreign language.
Abstracts for presentations and paper presentations should be shorter
than 250 words (excluding title and reference).
Abstracts for panel proposals should be fewer than 1000 words
(excluding title and reference). They should be uploaded as PDF
attachments.
Abstracts should not contain any identifying information about the
author(s).
The corresponding author must register for the conference. All
panelists must register for the conference.
For co-authored presentations, at least one of the authors must
register for the conference.
