Description:
The main tasks for this position is research in general linguistics
with a focus in theoretical and empirical comparative linguistics,
concentrating on syntax , morphology and/or their interfaces to
pragmatics; candidates should work on at least one non-indo-European
language. Additionally, the position requires teaching of two courses
per semester primarily within the Linguistics Program (BA, MA),
including supervision of Bachelor and Master theses and examinations.
Finally, participation in general administration, administratative
tasks for the work group and for the Linguistic Programs, e.g. event
organization etc is required.
The ideal candidate holds a doctoral or PhD degree in linguistics and
has a research profile in syntax and/or morphology, with research
experience for at least one non-indo-European language, knowledge of
empirical methods, such as field work methods (preferred) and/or
experimental methods. Teaching in German will be required at the
latest within one year of employment.
