Subject: Call for Applications - Journal of Second Language Writing Student Editorial Board Members


The Journal of Second Language Writing is seeking applications for two
student editorial board members. Position responsibilities include the
following:

•       reviewing 2-3 manuscripts per year;
•       participating in the annual Editorial Board meeting, held
Face-to-Face at the Symposium of Second Language Writing and/or via
Zoom;
•       voting for the best article published in the Journal the
previous year;
•       assisting the Editors in the review of special issue
proposals.

Successful applicants are expected to:

•       be within 2 years of completing a PhD in a relevant field
•       have strong support from their main supervisor

A publication record (e.g., conference presentation or publication)
would be an advantage.

Mentoring assistance will be provided by one of the editors and/or
senior editorial board members.

Your application should include the following as one PDF:

•       Cover letter describing your interest in the position and
relevant experience, including journal review experience. The letter
should be no more than one page single-spaced.
•       Full CV with contact information for the reference from your
supervisor

Applications should be emailed to Stephen Doolan (Co-Editor) at
Stephen.Doolan at tamucc.edu by the 15th of September 2024.

Appointment to the editorial board when the student editorial board
position expires will not be automatically granted, and will depend on
the needs of the journal and strengths of the applicant. Individuals
are encouraged to contact the co-editors if interested in such an
appointment.
