Description:

The Collaborative Research Center 1671 "Home(s): Phenomena, Practices,
Representations" is an interdisciplinary research project funded by
the German Research Foundation (DFG) (first funding period), which is
dedicated to the task of examining the current and controversial
phenomenon of home for its historical and global relevance. Further

The following full-time position (100 percent) is part of the
subproject B06 "Deictic imagination of lost and anticipated lifeworlds
of displaced German-speaking Jews". It examines how escape and
expulsion shape the way in which old and new homelands are imagined or
remembered, verbalised and narrated. In the first funding period, the
position runs preferably from 1 October 2024 until 30 June 2028:

Postdoctoral researcher (f/m/d)

Your tasks:
 - analysing linguistic practices of situating oneself in space, time
and the social world (data: the German-speaking called
"Israel"-corpora situated at the Leibniz Institute for the German
Language / IDS Mannheim)
 - preparing the data for analysis and managing the data in a database
 - writing scientific publications with the option of habilitation
(cumulative or monograph in agreement with the subproject leader)
 - participation in regular work meetings
 - participation in project-specific event formats and publications
 - collaboration with other subprojects

Your profile:
 - PhD in German Studies / Linguistics or related fields with a
similar profile
 - interest in Interactional Linguistics, Pragmatics/Deixis theory,
Oral History
 - interest in interdisciplinary work and methodological reflection
 - strong skills in communication and teamwork
 - professional experience in a university context
 - excellent knowledge of German, very good command of English
