Special Issue: Corpus linguistics: studies and applications

The Brazilian Journal of Applied Linguistics, available at
http://periodicos.letras.ufmg.br/index.php/rbla, is announcing a call
for papers for the special issue on corpus studies and applications.
In recent decades, corpus linguistics (CL) has grown significantly and
has profoundly influenced our understanding of various languages by
identifying linguistic patterns in natural texts. Moreover, CL has
proven to be exceptionally versatile, finding applications in diverse
contexts. Among these contexts, CL stands out in language teaching and
learning, describing language used in professional communities (e.g.,
doctors, physicists, linguists), and investigating specialized
registers (e.g., laws, news, literary texts) among others.

For this special issue, we particularly welcome original articles on:
 - New uses of corpus linguistics methods in Applied Linguistics
 - Corpus linguistics applications for professional contexts and/or
disciplinary studies
 - Pedagogical applications of corpus linguistics
 - Corpus analysis of genres
 - Studies of linguistic variation in corpora
 - Translation/interpretation studies informed by corpora
 - Diachronic corpus studies
 - Applications of corpus linguistics in gender studies
 - Corpus studies in social media analysis
 - Applications of corpus linguistics in artificial intelligence
 - Stylistic corpus studies
 - Other related topics in Applied Corpus Linguistics
