Meeting Description:
We are pleased to announce that the 55th Annual Meeting of the North
East Linguistics Society (NELS 55) will be hosted by Yale University
in New Haven, Connecticut from October 17 to October 18, 2024. Keynote
speakers will be announced at a later date.
2nd Call for Papers:
The 55th Annual Meeting of the North East Linguistic Society (NELS 55)
will be hosted by Yale University from October 17th – 18th, 2024.

Vicki Carstens (University of Connecticut)
Hannah Sande (University of California, Berkeley)
Shane Steinert-Threlkeld (University of Washington)
Coppe van Urk (Queen Mary University of London)
We invite abstracts for 20-minute talks and posters on any theoretical
or formal aspect of natural language, including but not limited to
phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, and their
interfaces.
Abstract Guidelines:
Abstracts, including references and data, must not exceed two A4 or
letter pages, have 2.54 cm (1 inch) margins on all sides, and be set
in Times New Roman with a font size no smaller than 11pt.
Examples, tables, graphs, etc. must be interspersed into the text of
the abstract, rather than collected at the end.
The submission must not reveal the identity of the author(s) in any
way.
Submissions are limited to two per author, with at most one paper
being single-authored.
Abstracts must be submitted in PDF format through the NELS 55
abstracts page (https://easychair.org/my/conference?conf=nels55), by
June 24th, 2024 at 23:59 Eastern Daylight Time (UTC-4).
NOTE: NELS 55 will give preference to new work. For this reason,
authors will be asked on the EasyChair submission page to indicate if
your work is under review for publication or has been accepted for
presentation at a major conference. This information will not be
shared with reviewers.
Timeline:
Submission deadline: June 24th, 2024 at 23:59 Eastern Daylight Time

Notification of decisions: July 31st, 2024
Conference dates: October 17th-18th, 2024.
