Focus: The main focus of the Summer School is in applied knowledge
about experimental methodologies to study voice, speech, language and
behaviour, following a hands-on approach.

Description:
This is the eighth edition of STEM (Summer Training in Experimental
Methods), a week long training program in current methods in
experimental linguistics, phonetics and psycholinguistics, organized
by the Phonetics and Phonology Laboratory and Lisbon Baby Lab (Center
of Linguistics, University of Lisbon).
STEM VIII is directed at undergraduate and graduate students, and
researchers interested in voice, speech, language and language related
areas (including language development and language impairments), as
well as professionals (educators, teachers, psychologists,
audiologists, speech therapists, among others).
STEM VIII takes a hands-on training approach and covers the following
topics/methods:
Course I - Praat and acoustic analysis
Course II - Advanced Praat
Course III - Tools for the study of perception
Course IV - Ultrasound Imaging
Course V - ELAN
Course VI - Advanced ELAN
Course VII - Eye-tracking
Course VIII - Advanced eye-tracking
Course IX - Electroencephalography
