Dear Readers,

We are approaching the finish of our fund drive. Thanks to all who
have shown so much generosity and have already supported the
operations of the LINGUIST List with a donation.

This year we are in a dramatic situation: We are asking for help to
cover the deficit created by cost inflation. In the last six weeks the
readers of the LINGUIST List have collected a substantial portion of
what we need. However, we still need a couple of thousands of dollars
more to look to the end of the fiscal year with confidence.

We need your help urgently to end this fund drive on a positive note.
Our advisors want to give us all an incentive: Please donate until
noon (EST), May 2, and our donors will match the amount donated up to
$700.
