Meeting Description:

Research on lifespan linguistic issues is rapidly emerging as a
significant area of interest, playing a pivotal role in the
development of linguistic theory. To promote development in this
field, Tongji University will host the "International Conference on
Language Development, Aging, and Disorders" from October 25 to 27,
2024. This conference encourages scholars from relevant disciplines to
focus on linguistic research that spans from early childhood to
advanced age, addressing key issues in language development and
disorders. We hope to foster academic dialogue and collaboration
within the field, ultimately serving to advance the welfare of human
beings.
CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
The themes of the conference include, but are not limited to the
following aspects:
-       Language Development and Disorders in Children: We focus on
the language acquisition process in children at different
developmental stages and the various obstacles they may encounter.
Research can include early intervention strategies, identification and
treatment of language disorders, and the relationship between language
and cognitive and social functions.
-       Adult Language Performance and Well-being: We explore how
language use in adulthood interacts with physical and mental health.
Research can focus on the role of language in screening and
intervening both physical and mental health problems.
-       Language and Aging: We investigate language changes in older
adults period, including the impact of cognitive decline on language
comprehension and production. Special attention is given to language
disorders in old age, such as the effects of neurodegenerative
diseases on language functions.

Abstracts should be submitted with a maximum of 500 words (not
including references) and a title. A second page may present relevant
figures and tables. The abstract should clearly state how the paper
will contribute to the themes of the conference. It should also
provide a simple statement of the aims of the research, including the
research question(s), some details about the methods used, and an
overview of the results. Please provide the specific information,
including the author’s name, affiliation, and email address (see
below).

The conference will be held in hybrid format: onsite and online. We
encourage on-site participation. A research training workshop will be
held before the conference.

-       Registration Time (for in-person participant): October 24,
2024
-       Conference Dates: October 25 to 27, 2024

REGISTRATION FEE
1000 RMB per person, 600 RMB for pre-conference workshop (both half
price for full-time students)
Participants are responsible for their own transportation and
accommodation arrangements.
