Description:
At the Department of Psycholinguistics and Didactics of German,
Faculty of Modern Languages, at Goethe University Frankfurt the
position of a Research associate (m/f/d) (E 13 TV-G-U, 65% part time)
is to be filled as soon as possible within the project “Causal
connectives: forms and their function for text comprehension”. The
project is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). The
position will be non-permanent until 31.12.2027. The salary grade is
based on the job characteristics of the collective agreement (TV-G-U)
applicable to Goethe University.
Responsibilities:
The present project investigates the influence of syntactic and
semantic properties of connectives and of the readers’ individual
language abilities on text comprehension at the end of elementary

highly qualified candidate, who will design, implement, and analyse
language acquisition experiments on text comprehension for fourth
grade students and contribute to the dissemination of the experimental
results. The opportunity for academic qualification (PhD) and
independent research will be provided.

Requirements:
Applicants should hold a very good MA in linguistics, German studies
or psychology, with the degree completed by the start of the contract
the latest. They should demonstrate interest and high motivation for
empirical language acquisition research. Very good language skills in
German and English are required. Proficiency with common software
(e.g., LaTeX, Microsoft Office) is expected. Knowledge of data
collection using psycholinguistic methods and software as well as of
quantitative data analysis (e.g. R) is an advantage.
